NEW SERVICE INFORMATION & REQUIREMENTS
  1. Bylaws of Indian Electric Cooperative, Inc. require persons requesting electric service to be members of the Cooperative.  If not already a member, the applicant will be required to pay a membership fee and complete a membership application. Indian Electric Cooperative also requires a copy of the legal description of the land showing the legal owners names as they appear on the title or deed to the property where the electric is to be constructed.
  1. A new member may be required to place on deposit an amount equal to approximately two months electric bill.  A credit check showing acceptable credit may be accepted in lieu of a security deposit.  Interest will be paid on all deposits at a rate established by Oklahoma Corporation Commission.  Deposits will be refunded after customer has established an acceptable payment record for twenty four consecutive months, or upon termination of electric service.
  1. Indian Electric Cooperative, Inc., will require a main circuit breaker or safety type fuse on the load side, and immediately adjacent to or with in three (3) feet of the Cooperative’s meter.  The circuit breaker or safety type fuse will be provided and installed by and at the expense of the member prior to service being made available.  It is required that the wiring between the meter and the disconnect meet National Electric Safety Code.
  1. Residential:  The Cooperative will build to permanent farmsteads and residences with a standard construction allowance of $1,500 contributed by the Cooperative.  The customer shall be responsible for all construction costs in excess of the allowable amount.  For residential service the property must have a permanent water supply under pressure and a health department approved sewage disposal in place before any line is constructed.  If a customer desires service before the sewer and water are in place, the service will be treated as a temporary service and applicable up and down charges will apply.

Service to Loads Up to 450 kW:  The Cooperative will provide a construction allowance of $1,500 contributed by the Cooperative.  The customer shall be responsible for all costs of line extension exceeding the construction allowance amount.  All specifications, including right-of-way and distances involved will be determined by the Cooperative.  Calculation of costs is based on an actual previous cost determination.  Ownership of the line will remain with the Cooperative and the right to connect others is in no way waived.

Loads Greater than 450 kW:  Extensions for loads greater than 450 kW will be addressed on a case by case basis.

Low Usage Loads:  Service to loads requiring up to ten (10) KVA capacity will be served by the Cooperative with an extension of its overhead lines with a standard construction allowance of $500 contributed by the Cooperative.

The customer will be responsible for all costs of line extension exceeding the construction allowance.  All specifications, including right-of-way, and distances involved will be determined by the Cooperative.  Calculation of costs will be based on actual previous cost determinations.  No construction will begin until all required documentation is received and all fees are paid including any contributions-in-aid of construction required.  Ownership of the line will remain with the Cooperative and the right to connect others is in no way waived.  The customer will provide accessible entrance to the property.
  1. The customer will be billed the monthly customer facilities charge from the date of installation.
  1. Tulsa County requires an electrical permit prior to construction of any new installation of electric service within Tulsa County.  Your electrician can obtain a permit number for the proposed installation.  Indian Electric must have the permit number prior to start of construction.
  1. Indian Electric requires right-of-way easements for construction and for future maintenance of lines to provide the requested electric service.  Power lines routing through forested areas require that trees be removed 25 feet on each side of the line.  All right-of-way acquisition will be the responsibility of the member, including executed and notarized easements.  Our Engineering personnel can assist in the preparation of these documents.
  1. Security lights are normally installed on existing meter or transformer poles and incur a monthly charge.  Installation of additional poles, transformers and wire solely for security lights are available at the members request.  The installation charges will be calculated by a Staking Technician based on actual previous cost determination, and must be paid prior to construction.
