Promoting electrical safety not only makes good sense, it is a responsibility IEC takes seriously. We offer a variety of safety programs that can be customized to meet the needs of your group.

The Electric Junction model depicts a typical neighborhood scene and allows the demonstration of many electrical contact hazards with overhead and underground electrical service.

The model is powered by a transformer which produces a 7,5000 volt, 30 milliamp current that creates dramatic arcs when contacts are made.

Students get to see first-hand what can happen when a ladder makes electrical contact, a shovel digs into underground service, a kite gets caught in a line, and many other everyday situations where safety can prevent serious accidents.

Kids love this classroom display and our experienced presenters leave them with a lasting impression about the importance of safety around electrical service.

This program from Indian Electric Cooperative has been provided to every school age group all the way up to fire, police, and sheriff departments. The arcing demonstration can be tailored to meet the needs of young audiences or as technically sophisticated as an industrial customer's safety program. It utilizes a transformer to produce over a 7,500 volt electrical arc to illustrate the danger of energized electrical conductors. In order to present the demonstration, a minimum of 100 AMPS at 240 volts must be available at the site. If you need a IEC representative to check the electrical capability at your site, please contact a marketing representative at your local United office.
