REBATES
IEC members are reminded that the Take Control & Save rebate program continues through 2012. Rebates are available to IEC members replacing the following appliances.
- ELECTRIC WATER HEATER - $50
Unit must have efficiency rating of .90 or higher and cannot replace gas. Submit the Energy Star proof of efficiency rating, brand and model number with your rebate form.
- ROOM A/C UNIT - $50
Applies to the purchase of a new Energy Star unit.
- CLOTHES WASHER - $100
Applies to purchase of a new Energy Star unit. The unit must be connected to an electric water heater. Expires 6/1/2012
- DISHWASHER - $50
Applies to the purchase of a new Energy Star unit. The unit must be connected to an electric water heater. Expires 6/1/2012
- GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMP - $750 PER TON
Installation of Energy Star rated unit with at least an EER of 19.1. Residential 10 ton max. Commercial 50 ton max.
For the replacement of the indoor ground-source heat pump unit only (does not include loop system), a $150 per ton rebate will apply. If the heat pump (compressor) unit is replaced, it must be a gain of 3 EER rating points and meet the Take Control & Save Program requirements.
- AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMP WITH GAS, PROPANE OR FUEL OIL BACKUP HEAT - $150 PER TON
Installation of a 16.5 SEER or higher Energy Star heat pump.
- AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMP WITH ELECTRIC BACKUP HEAT - $150 PER TON
Installation of a 16 SEER or higher Energy Star heat pump with electric backup in new construction or replacing electric resistance heat.
Participation in the Take Control & Save rebate program for 2011 was very good says Clara Eulert, IEC Member Services representative. However, Eulert says that many rebates are slowed by omissions from the rebate form, here are some of the most common.
- Fill out rebate form completely, including all signatures. Contractor signatures are also required for Dual Fuel Heat Pumps and Ground Source Heat Pumps.
- Water heater rebate…provide proof from the manufacture of the Energy Factor Rating of .90 or greater. A copy of the manufacture’s booklet or label on the box will contain this information. Also provide the model number and manufacture’s name for the electric water heater.
- Include a copy of your receipt and maintain the original receipt for your records.
Please keep these tips in mind when completing the Take Control & Save rebate form. Rebate forms are available at www.iecok.com/Rebates, our Cleveland and Fairfax offices, or call IEC at 918-295-9500 to request a form. In order to insure you have all necessary rebate form information you may want to have the form in hand before making your purchase decision. The rebate forms must be submitted to IEC within 90 days of purchase/installation of the appliance or heat pump. Forms can be mailed to:
